Christmas 2020

Eating Stone’s meagre budget means the children mostly eat vegetable protein, so they were thrilled when Tracey Farleigh organised UK donors to fund a proper Christmas meal and purchase 100 new blankets, and Donna Stimson organised Australian donors to buy new clothes for everyone. As a result, the children had what many of us take for granted at Christmas: a good meal, a warm bed, and a gift: new Christmas clothes.

We’ll let the photos and the videos speak for themselves (but be sure to watch the dance video).

Meat: a rare and welcome treat…
…being lovingly prepared
Warning: they’re amazing! How can you not fall in love with these kids? The song is Tsa Mandebele Kids by Oskido. (We recommend watching this full screen.)
Making chapati, a much-loved treat, one that’s essential for special occasions
Receiving 100 new and very necessary blankets (necessary because it gets cold at 6,400 feet elevation, and of course there’s no heating), and…
…thanking Tracey Farleigh and her UK donors
